I am trying to raise awareness for this issue among public personalities to help promote this cause.

Romania has a new government appointed by the political party who won the election (only 30% of the people have voted).

This government reversed very quickly a few laws to allow corrupted politicians and businessmen to thrive.

One of these reversed laws is reducing or eliminating the punishment for people involved in illegal cutting of trees from the forest.

The EU has real power of influencing this government.

Romania and Bulgaria are monitored by the European Council via a political tool named: Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (MCV).

I have created an online petition to ask for this mechanism to include the monitoring of the Romanian government forestry policy on a long term.
